Set in a 400-year-old former vicarage, The Pear Tree includes seven acres of lawned, luscious gardens and grounds, including its very own vineyard. The history of the venue goes back 700 years, with parts of its stunning architecture originating in the 17th century. Rest assured, privacy and comfort are guaranteed in this secluded countryside venue.

After being moved entirely brick-by-brick to its current location, The Pear Tree opened as a hotel in 1987. It was eventually sold by the Diocese of Bristol to Francis and Anne Young, a lovely couple who ran the business until 2019. It is now owned by Artemis Venue Services who added a modern Orangery to the back of the building and updated the 18 luxurious bedrooms to make it the breathtaking events venue it is today.

Perfectly blending old with new, The Pear Tree has become one of the most prestigious exclusive events venues in Wiltshire and the south-west. It is located within easy reach of Bristol, Reading and London, just a 10-minute drive from the M4 and 15 minutes from Swindon train station.

The building boasts a range of versatile spaces, bespoke in-house catering and on-site accommodation that all come together to provide an unforgettable and luxurious experience for guests. There is a maximum capacity of 200, with 150 seated dining capacity. From extensive outdoor space including the onsite vineyard to flexible meeting rooms, your event will be planned alongside your personal vision with a team of experts available at all times.

Great food helps to elevate any event, which is why The Pear Tree offers imaginative menus and the finest British produce to completely transform you and your guests’ dining experience. Every dish can be catered to your tastes, served alongside expertly crafted drinks and exceptional service.

Should you be looking for a little adventure offsite, the town of Purton is just around the corner. The Purton Museum showcases the area’s history whilst the parish council has a busy events calendar to explore. You’ll also find several nature reserves, wildlife centres and golf courses, all helping you make the most of the rural location.
