If you’re looking for a relaxed, hands-on activity that encourages creativity, collaboration, and a little bit of friendly competition, Chain Reaction is a brilliant choice. This unique team challenge invites your group to construct a section of a larger chain reaction machine using a selection of materials, all while working closely with neighbouring teams to ensure a seamless connection. It’s engaging, imaginative and designed to get everyone thinking, talking and building together.
Each team is given a colour coded zone and a box of materials, including dominoes, wooden blocks, string, balls, tape and more. Using only what’s provided, teams must build a contraption that plays its part in a continuous chain reaction stretching across multiple zones.
To make it work, your section must start where the last one left off and pass the action smoothly onto the next, meaning cooperation across teams is just as important as what happens in your own area. Points are awarded for creativity, reliability and smooth handovers, with a few surprises along the way to keep things interesting.
Chain Reaction is a fantastic way to bring people together in a fun, low-pressure environment. It encourages creative thinking and cross function communication, while promoting problem solving, patience and resilience. With its relaxed pace and open ended format, it’s a great leveller, whether someone’s naturally hands-on or more of an ideas person, everyone has a part to play.

“I cannot recommend this company enough. Natasha was a great help from start to finish when I contacted her regarding an away day for my team. We are an NHS team and have been undergoing huge change. Once I explained this as well as my apprehension as it was the first one I was leading and solo! I was given lots of of helpful tips for the day as well as recommended 2 activities to build rapport and communication and have some fun.”
