The Treasure Chest is a high-energy team building challenge built around one clear goal: open the chest before anyone else does. Teams race to earn nine keys by completing a series of challenges, with a giant, padlocked treasure chest waiting at the end. With prizes inside and no reward for second place, it’s fast, competitive, and guarantees a thrilling race to the final key.
Teams are split into small groups and the race is on. Teams juggle a treasure hunt–style search with a series of fast-paced team challenges. The map and scavenger list must be completed before they can attempt to open the chest, which forces quick decisions, clear communication, and teamwork under pressure.
Alongside this, teams compete across nine team building challenges, each designed to test different skills and keep everyone involved. Tasks are simple to understand but harder to deliver when the clock is ticking. Your team will feel like they’ve stepped into something inspired by The Cube or The Crystal Maze. Every completed challenge earns a key, with visible progress and constant competition driving teams towards the finish.
There’s no fixed route and no right way to play. Teams decide how to tackle the game, how to divide their time, and when to push on or change tack. In a competitive environment where there’s no prize for second place, communication, cooperation, and quick thinking are what make the difference when it comes to unlocking that final padlock.
The Treasure Chest creates immediate focus. With nine keys to earn, extra tasks to complete, and other teams close behind, groups have to communicate clearly and make decisions quickly. Progress is visible, pressure is real, and teams feel the consequences of how well they plan and adapt as the game unfolds.
It also brings out different strengths. The mix of challenges from problem-solving and memory to reactions and coordination means no single skill dominates. Teams that succeed are the ones that recognise this early, play to individual strengths, and keep everyone involved all the way to the final lock. It’s competitive, absorbing, and leaves people with a clear memory of having done something together.
A simple goal, real tension: Nine keys, one chest, and other teams close behind. The structure is easy to grasp, but pressure builds quickly as progress is visible and every decision matters.

Indoor or Outdoor Activity
The Treasure Chest works as an indoor activity, outdoor activity or a combination of the two. Each event is tailored to the suit your chosen venue so it works well for most locations. The setup time is 1 hour and this activity typically runs for around 1 hour 15mins.
As a standalone activity this can accommodate groups of 10 - 200. For greater numbers this can be included as part of a larger activity package.

“I just wanted to say thank you for making our Team Building Day at Eaves Hall such a fantastic event. All the staff thoroughly enjoyed the day and I think I can honestly speak for everyone at Bender UK and say that it has been our best event to date!! The venue was stunning, the weather was glorious and we couldn’t have asked for a better day. Ben, we thought the team building games were excellent and it was great to see our staff not only working together as a team but having a laugh and enjoying it at the same time. I honestly couldn’t fault the day and even the more sceptical members of staff who said they hate team building, came away smiling. 😊”
