Our Top Tips for Event Planners

Keep Your Dates Flexible

As a general rule it usually pays to plan in advance and, where possible, to keep your dates flexible if you can. With that said, please don’t panic if you’ve left it to the last minute on this occasion! Our team are experts at planning events at short notice and can pretty much always source a suitable venue and activities. If this sounds like you, call us now and we’ll look to work our magic.

For everyone else who is perhaps a little earlier in the planning stages, we’d highly recommend maintaining some flexibility when it comes to dates and times.

Why? Well the simple answer is that the best venues and activities can get booked up months in advance. As we mentioned earlier, we’re pretty confident we can find an option for you either way… but, if you plan ahead and have a few potential dates you can work with then you’ll have your pick of the bunch. You may also benefit from special offers or discounts only available for early birds.

Understand Your Objectives

Before you begin planning you’re event it’s important to understand what you’re hoping to achieve. Are you looking to organise a quick off-site meeting or a 3-day conference, team building day or sales incentive trip? Is there a particular message you want to convey to attendees, or a set agenda you need to follow?

If you’re feeling a little lost or don’t know where to start, don’t worry, we’re here to help. Our ‘get a quote’ questionnaire will help you to define your requirements and ensure that every quote you get back is tailored to meet your needs.

Know your Audience

Now, this is an important one! Especially if you’re planning to include some team building activities as part of your event. Are your colleagues a competitive bunch? If so, opting for something that allows them to go head-to-head with other team members may be ideal. Alternatively, if you have a mix of ages, abilities and interests then choosing something a bit more relaxed and informal may be more likely to receive a positive response from your guests.

You should also consider the time of year. Is it likely to be sunny (i.e. the sort of day when everyone will want to be outside and the thought of being cooped up indoors is unbearable)? If not, then you’ll need to plan with the great British weather in mind. Many of our activities work both indoors and outdoors, so if you’d like to hedge your bets then there are plenty of options available.

If you’re not sure what you’re looking you are welcome to browse our activity pages or to use our get a quote search to define your team building objectives and get some recommendations. Alternatively, if you’d like a bit more support, our team are always happy to talk you through your options and to make some personal recommendations to suit your group. Just give us a call!

“I just wanted to say thank you for making our Team Building Day at Eaves Hall such a fantastic event. All the staff thoroughly enjoyed the day and I think I can honestly speak for everyone at Bender UK and say that it has been our best event to date!! The venue was stunning, the weather was glorious and we couldn’t have asked for a better day. Ben, we thought the team building games were excellent and it was great to see our staff not only working together as a team but having a laugh and enjoying it at the same time. I honestly couldn’t fault the day and even the more sceptical members of staff who said they hate team building, came away smiling. 😊”
