If you’re planning a corporate event at one of our countryside venues then clay pigeon shooting may be a great option to consider. Each participant gets to shoot a selection of clay targets coming at a variety of different angles and speeds. A bit of practice is followed by a friendly competition where teams can earn themselves points and individuals can compete for the day’s ‘Top Shot Award’. All of our instructors are experienced at teaching beginners and with their one-on-one coaching, encouragement and expertise, even the most nervous first timer will be breaking clays by the end of the session.
One of the most common complaints from those who have tried shooting before is the recoil (i.e. the kick back from the gun) with some even having suffered from a bruised shoulder in the past. But, with instruction from our experienced team and the right equipment there is no need for anyone to be bruised by a shotgun. We use a range of different shotguns on our events to ensure everyone can take part regardless of age, sex, build or experience. We also use low power cartridges. At the distance you'll be shooting they have more than enough energy to shatter a clay pigeon, but are less powerful than the type used by most shooting grounds.
Our friendly team are experienced at teaching beginners and have great techniques to correct any issues faced when shooting. Because you get one-on-one coaching our instructors are always on hand to make sure you’re holding the gun properly and standing correctly. All personal protective equipment including eye and ear protection is provided to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone taking part.
Clay Pigeon Shooting is a fantastic country sport and is great fun for beginners, so well worth considering as an option for your next event. Why not combine this activity with some other country sports like Archery or Duck Herding for a truly rural retreat or with team building activities for something a little different?
Outdoor Activity
Clay Pigeon Shooting is an outdoor activity which requires appropriate grounds that are suitable and safe to accommodate the activity. All of our venues that offer this activity have been assessed and approved by qualified instructors and firearms professionals to ensure you can enjoy the activity safely.
The setup time is 2 hours and this activity typically runs for around 2 hours. As a standalone activity this can accommodate groups of 10 - 40. For greater numbers this can be combined with other country sports or team building challenges as part of a larger activity package.
“We used Events Made Simple for an important team building afternoon. It's a very new team with members located across Europe. Lots of laughing mixed with some serious moments. Even the most sceptical member of the team admitted at the end of the afternoon that he had enjoyed the experience! The team are now enjoying closer collaboration and ideas sharing. Thanks Ben for helping us to get to know one another better and start to develop a closer co-operation for the future.”
